How old are you?

I'm 23!

What is your ethnicity?

I am Haitian American.

Where are you from?

My parents are from Haiti, they immigrated here and had me in Brooklyn, NY, and then I moved to Manchester, NH (also known as Manch Vegas) during elementary school.  The city is historically known for the Amoskeag Mills, which used to be the major textile industry in the world. Live Free or Die!!

What college did you go to?

I went to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (I still have to sing the Orientation song in my head as I'm spelling it out - if you know, you know). I went there because they gave me an awesome financial aid package. Fun fact - less than 32% of students were women, less than 5% were Black, and less than 2% were under the age of 18! I fit into all three categories.... 

Right after graduating with my undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Biology, I matriculated into the DMD Class of 2022 at Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine. (Another fun fact, can you guess what the M stands for?)

How are you paying for dental school?

I was super lucky and I received the HPSP Army scholarship after applying during my senior year! This means that I will graduate from dental school with no debt. I enlisted in September 2018 as a Second Lieutenant and when I graduate I'll enter the Military as a Captain. They cover my tuition, books, and living costs - all I have to do is keep my grades up and stay in shape (well I have to get in shape first)!
